BEVERAGE INDUSTRY

FILLING & BOTTLING

• Nitrogen is used to blow out bottles
• Provide head pressure on filling machine
• Provide inert gas in top of bottle

BEER

• Nitrogen prevents beer oxidising
• Beer keg is filled with nitrogen after cleaning and sterilising
• Fill pressure approx 2 barg
• Unlike CO2, will not dissolve into beer and make it not too gassy

Other Liquid Foods

• Olive oil
• Fruit and vegetables juces
• Milk and fruits drinks
• Sauces and toppings
• Energy drinks

OENOLOGY N2 GENERATORS

Nitrogen in Oenology

A SHIELD AGAINST OXIDATION

In winemaking, the technique of inerting wine storage tanks has rapidly spread, in order to reduce the amount of oxygen in contact with the product. Nitrogen in winemaking is mostly used to prevent wine oxidising, which is a cause of deterioration in quality, involving changes in colour, aroma and flavour.

THE IMPORTANCE AND ADVANTAGE OF HAVING AVAILABLE ON-SITE GENERATED NITROGEN

In cellars, the approach of using on-site produced nitrogen happened gradually, to satisfy the increasing demand from innovations with gas injection at bottling level. Worldwide there is a rapid movement towards nitrogen generators replacing the traditional nitrogen production systems, such as cylinders or liquid gas, due to the advantages coming from the convenience and affordability of this system. The key of the success of nitrogen generators is that by simply switching on the machine, all the nitrogen needed can be produced on-site, in full safety, at the desired purity and especially at a lower cost compared with other supply systems
