How does a membrane generator work?
Nitrogen generation via the hollow fiber membranes is based on the process of dimensional separation of oxygen and nitrogen molecules. Compressed air is channelled through the hollow polymer fibers with selective permeability capable to separate nitrogen from other gases (oxygen, water vapor, carbon dioxide). As a result we have a production of nitrogen with adjustable purity while the oxygen enriched air is discharged as waste product. It is a static, extremely reliable process with low maintenance and is particularly suitable for use where large quantities of low purity nitrogen are required.
